Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital  - The Heart of Healthcare in Musquodoboit Harbour

The Old School Community Gathering Place received a $73,433 grant from the Office of Healthcare Professionals Recruitment (OHPR) to produce a documentary film from April 1 to September 30, 2024.  Its aim was to showcase Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital as an innovative rural hospital as well as Musquodoboit Harbour as a vibrant village with small town amenities with an easy commute to the city.

The Old School hired the local firm, Quigley Creative, to produce a beautiful 10 minute

film showing prospective professionals the features of Musquodoboit Harbour as a rural

village, with access to the city’s amenities and the warm and caring community that they serve.  It is entitled “Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital - The Heart of Healthcare in Musquodoboit” and will be used to attract healthcare professionals to consider Musquodoboit Harbour to work and to live.  The recruitment video includes interviews with community members and with

Twin Oaks staff speaking about why they love working and living in this community as well as breath-taking local scenery and attractions.

Quigley Creative was paid $68,310 from the grant for their incredible work including pre-production, filming and post-production.

The film is for the exclusive use of the Old School Community Gathering Place and the province who owns the final video product.  Use of the video and related material is subject to prior written consent from the Old School Community Gathering Place.

Very soon the film will be on the Office of Healthcare Professionals Recruitment More Than Medicine website, which features detailed information for doctors and nurses on career paths across the entire province (https://www.morethanmedicine.ca).
